Beijing: Chinese multinational company Xiaomi on Wednesday unveiled Mi Robot Vacuum which is equipped with 12 sensors and a host of advanced features to clean homes in a smart and efficient way.
Developed by Mi Ecosystem company Rockrobo, the robot features Laser Distance Sensor (LDS) and is able to scan its surroundings in 360 degrees at 1,800 times per second.
Mi Robot Vacuum will be available for 1,699 yuan (approximately Rs 17,000) on Mi.com and Mi Home stores in China starting September 6.
By employing a Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping (SLAM) algorithm, Mi Robot Vacuum is able to map out how the home is laid out and calculate the best cleaning path, the company said in a statement.
Like other Mi products, Mi Robot Vacuum integrates with the Mi Home app.
It allows users to switch on and control the robot remotely and also set regular cleaning schedules.
The robot has 5,200mAh battery and delivers up to 2.5 hours of cleaning.
