Barcelona : Chinese electronics company and smartphone maker Xiaomi has launched the new flagship at the Mobile World Congress here.
The new smartphone called Mi 5 has been compared to Apple’s iPhone 6s and Samsung Galaxy S6 in terms of design.
The most expensive of the smartphone series called Mi 5 Pro comes with 4GB RAM and 128 GB space and is priced at Yuan 2699 in China (roughly Rs 28,000).
The Mi 5 has also 16MP rear camera with 4-axis OIS, and 4 megapixel front camera and would come in three colour variants of black, gold and white.
It goes on sale in China on March 1 but the launch date for India is yet to be announced.
Xiaomi had also announced the launch of the much anticipated Redmi Note 3 in India on March 3.
Headquartered in Beijing, Xiaomi is the world’s fourth largest smartphone maker. Xiaomi designs, develops, and sells smartphones, mobile apps, and related consumer electronics.
The company’s founder and CEO Lei Jun is China’s 23rd richest person according to Forbes. The company sold over 60 million smartphones in 2014. (ANI)
