New Delhi: Wholesale price index (WPI) inflation climbs to a near two-year high at 3.55 percent as against 1.62 percent month-on-month.
Industrial inflation climbed to1.8 percent from 1.17 percent last month.
Food Inflation too increased to 11.82 percent from 8.18 percent last month.
The vegetable inflation accelerated to 28 percent from 16.9 percent in June while the pulses inflation has gone up to 35.76 percent from 26.61 percent.
In April the series’ readings turned positive following 17 straight months of contraction. It comes after headline consumer prices hit their highest level since September 2014 in July.
The Reserve Bank of India moved to an inflation-targeting framework in 2015, and has set a CPI target range of between 2 and 6 per cent for the coming five years. (ANI)
