Welfare Party of India (WPI), Karnataka, strongly opposed the Narendra Modi government for the sharp increase in rail fair and freight charges.
Mr. Taher Hussain, general secretary of the party said in a statement that, the BJP government has begun delivering ‘good governance’ and ‘people-friendly policies’ with the highest ever increase in rail fares in the history of Indian Railways.
With only few days left to unveil the railway budget, this increase shows disrespect to the very institution of the parliament, he added.
He also ridiculed the Railway Minister’s claim that he was executing the decision taken by the former UPA regime and wondered that, whether it is a new BJP-led NDA government or a continuation of UPA III. He asked the party cadres to protest against the decision.Courtesy:Karnataka Muslims
