Having successfully battled his struggle with stuttering, actor Hrithik Roshan says he wants his two sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan to be not affected by fear but to muster strength to overcome the odds.
The 41-year-old star, who is back on the small screen as a host with TV show “HRX Heroes with Hrithik Roshan”, said the idea behind the series is to put forth the achievements of people, who overcame difficulties to become heroes.
“When we see newspapers or news channels, the focus is on horror, negativity. I would not want my kids and the youth to be moulded by fear… The idea is to show achievements of people. One should evoke hope in heart of people,” he said at the show’s launch.
Hrithik himself overcame speech disorder, stuttering, during his growing years through intense voice exercises and willpower.
“Everybody wants to be a hero. I too managed to become a hero. To be a true hero is something else. Human being survives all odds… We all have that inner strength in us. There are times when you are lost, confused, we fail but we all have ability to rise and defeat,” Hrithik said.
The show will premiere on November 2 on Discovery channel.
The nine-part series will present real life stories of men and women from across India who went through odds and did not give up on their dreams and emerged as heroes.
“It is not just a TV show. We have outstanding heroes on the show. Their stories are heart wrenching, they are incredible human beings. I feel proud to be associated with the show,” he said.
The “Agneepath” star said he connected with the show’s “motivational” theme and agreed to come on board instantly.
When asked about other shows with similar concept, Hrithik said it is good to have such shows on the small screen as they spread awareness and are not something to be seen as competition.
