World’s First Smartphone With Night-Vision Camera Launched

New Delhi: Copenhagen-based Lumigon, a Danish smartphone maker, has launched its T3 handset. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow based device is the world’s first smartphone to have a night vision camera. This essentially means the smartphone is capable of taking high-quality pictures in complete darkness, similar to the ones used in wildlife photography. The Lumigon T3 is primarily intended to be used in rugged environments. It’s priced at $740 (Rs 49,500 approximately) and currently available only in the US. The firm has not yet revealed the price and availability details in other countries.

Besides the night vision camera, the Lumigon T3 comes with sensors like altimeter, compass and temperature sensor. The smartphone also features a BackTouch display, which allows a user to scroll through websites or complete other actions by simply swiping at the back of the smartphone. The smartphone also features water and dust resistance, and comes with a fingerprint scanner.

As for the specifications, the dual-sim Lumigon T3 sports a 4.8-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixels resolution with double tap to wake functionality. Under the hood, the phone packs an unspecified octa-core SoC clubbed with 3GB of RAM. On the front, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel snapper with 2K video support.

Under the hood, the Lumigon T3 comes with a 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio x10 64-bit octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. It runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 out-of-the-box, and includes connectivity options like dual-SIM, Bluetooth 4.1, micro-USB 2.0, Infrared, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. The smartphone also supports wireless charging.
