‘World’s fastest’ Smartphone Zopo Speed 8 launched in Delhi

Chinese phone manufacturer Zopo Mobiles on Wednesday launched what it claims to be the world’s fastest flagship Smartphone ‘Zopo Speed 8’.

Priced at Rs. 29,999, the phone will be available through offline and online platforms starting Wednesday.

Zopo 8 mobile is the first phone to have a Decca-Core Media Tek Helio X 20 (MT6797) processor, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB of internal storage and a Mali-T880 MP 4 GPU. It features a 5.5 inch Full High Definition display of 1920×1080 resolution with 440 pixels per inch (PPI). It also comes with finger print scanner placed at the back of the phone and supports Near Field Communication (NFC).

The phone sports a 21 MP back camera with f/2.0 aperture with Face Detection Auto Focus imbibed in it and an eight megapixel front camera with LED flash at both parts of the phone.

Zopo Speed 8 runs on Android Marshmallow and is backed by 3600 mAh Li-polymer battery. It has a Type-C USB for fast charging.

Speaking to ANI, Zopo Mobile’s Brand Manager, Charles Bird, stated the company not only aims to create brand awareness but also stakes claim to be the first company to launch the phone with the Deca-Core processor.

“With the Deca- Core processor, we have the opportunity to work with Mediatek to be the first to launch it. It is faster and its great brand awareness because we can say that we were the first one to launch. It just goes without saying that it’s a great band promotion,” he said.

He said this device is among the fastest Smartphones available in the market.

“With Speed 8 what it translates into benchmarks, it scored extremely high in Antutu pegging at 93000 and if you see Xiamoi except for the latest one, all of them score much lower than that,” he said.

When asked about the company’s plan to manufacture under the “Make in India” initiative, Bird stated the company has plans to start manufacturing in India in the near future.

Zopo is slated to launch its lower end segment the ‘Colour’ series next month to target the youth.
