Chile, May 22, 1960. Measured 9.5 on the Richter scale. Killed 1655 in Chile. Subsequent tsunami killed 68 in Hawaii, 138 in Japan and 32 in the Philippines.

Alaska, March 28, 1964. Measured 9.2 on the Richter scale. Killed 15. Subsequent tsunami killed 113.

Indonesia, December 26, 2004. Measured 9.1 on the Richter scale. Tsunami killed almost 230,000 around the world.

Hawaii, November 4, 1952. Measured 9.0 on the Richter scale. No deaths.

Ecuador, January 31, 1906. Measured 8.8 on the Richter scale. Tsunami killed up to 1500 in Ecuador and Colombia.

Alaska, February 4, 1965. Measured 8.7 on the Richter scale. No deaths.

Indonesia, March 28, 2005. Measured 8.6 on the Richter scale. More than 1300 killed.

Tibet, August 15, 1950. Measured 8.6 on the Richter scale. Killed about 780.

Alaska, March 9, 1957. Measured 8.6 on the Richter scale. No deaths.

Indonesia, September 12, 2007. Measured 8.6 on the Richter scale. At least 25 killed.
