Hyderabad, November 05: In the freedom struggle of the country,Urdu newspapers have played a vital role.The editor of Urdu newspaper, Delhi Mr. Mohammed Baqer had criticised the Britishers on the arrest of Bahadur Shah Zafar and his imprisonment in Rangoon for which he was tied to the cannon and blown up. This incident triggered the revolution and struggle for independence.
In order to highlight the role of Urdu newspapers an international conference of urdu editors is being held under the auspices of Siasat on 26th & 27th November 2011 in Hyderabad.
As part of the conference,60 Urdu newspapers published during the part 160 years will be placed in the exhibition. These include Urdu Akbar (Delhi) Akhbar Asafi Al-Hilal, Hamdard, Rahbar-e-Deccan,Madina Payam,Zammdar, pratap,Milap Dabdaba-e-Sikandari etc.
