World Muslim Forum Conference in New Zealand Auckland 18/11/13

(Syed Mujeeb New Zealand Correspondent, Siasat Daily) Office of Ethnic Affairs within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of New Zealand is calling for wide participation of people from diverse background to join World Muslim Forum conference. This is the first of its kind conference promoted by New Zealand Government in order to enhance its Building Bridges Programme started in 2005.

The event is taking place at Aotea Square in the heart of Auckland City on 23rd Nov 2013. The programme aims to create better connections, meaningful collaboration and open communication to support the maintenance of New Zealand’s social harmony. This comes in the background of New Zealand’s economy which is contributed by significant trade relations with Muslim world. Country’s Muslim population and organizations play critical role in establishing these trade connections. Registration starts in the morning at 9:15 AM, and Minister of Internal Affairs, Judith Collins will deliver opening address at 10:00 AM.

This will be followed by the Launch of Building Bridges booklet and later Keynote Speaker, Irfan Yusuf will deliver has presentation. Federation of Islamic Association of New Zealand (FIANZ) is also an important part and promoter of this programme. Its President Dr Anwar Ghani sits in the panel of New Zealand’s Transnational Links with the Muslim World with other Ministers and officials of New Zealand government.
