South Africa’s pace spearhead Dale Steyn has claimed that his form has ‘gradually gotten better’ in the ongoing World Cup.
Steyn has had a slow start from a wicket-taking point of view, but says that he still enjoys ‘leading from the front’ by running in with ‘intensity and aggression’. He said that he doesn’t believe that he has ‘bowled too badly’.
He said that he is going through the World Cup ‘game-by-game’ and he thought that against Zimbabwe he wanted to bowl quite quick and ran in to ‘bowl them over’, adding that he doesn’t believe that it was ‘quite the right strategy’ on that wicket.

He insisted that it was a ‘bit slow’ and their bowlers proved to be quite a handful by getting the ball in the right areas with good use of the slower ball.
Steyn said that after Zimbabwe he believes he got ‘better and better’ against India and Ireland, adding that it has ‘gradually gotten better’. He admitted that he hasn’t taken the wickets that he wants to take, adding that in a World Cup one doesn’t have ‘anywhere to hide’, insisting that one is ‘criticised’ in every game that one plays.
He signed off that there are only 10 wickets to take and if Imran Tahir takes five and Kyle Abbott takes four, there are not many left for the other bowlers to take.
