GITAM University, Hyderabad Campus has been conducting a two day workshop on Outcome Based Education during on June 12 & 13. On the first day, Prof. N, Siva Prasad, Director of GITAM University delivered the Key Note address on the need for Outcome Based Education for the present generation. The workshop is planned to train faculty members on Writing Programme Education Objectives (PEOs), Course Objectives (Cos) and Mapping them. It is planned to train the faculty on assessment of students.
Prof. P.S.Grover, a retired professor from IIT, Delhi University enlightened the faculty on how Outcome Based Education differs from Traditional Methods of Teaching. He also emphasized on inculcating and imbibing high-order thinking skills among students.
Anand Bhasker, Founder and CEO of Planet Ganges exhorted on Building Perceptive and paradigm shift in learning. He also made the faculty to be aware of four styles of learning such as Observation, Experience, Experiment, and Reflective. He persuaded the audience to teach to aspire for holistic learning of the students. He further urged the faculty to be aware of technology and generational shift to get leverage from Social Mobile Analytical Cloud (SMAC) and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). He concluded the forenoon session that the institutions which embrace the changes and have huger for learning will grow.
Prof. Ch.Sanjay, Principal, GST, DVVSR Varma, Resident Director, all HoDs and Faculty members were also take part in the two day workshop. (NSS)
