Srinagar, April 05: A local court today sentenced a non Kashmiri worker to 15-day rigorous imprisonment for eve teasing in Baramulla district.
The judge also imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on Qudoos Ali Karami, a resident of Gorakhpatta in West Bengal.
Karami was arrested on the charges of eve teasing at Pattan, 27 kms from here, on Srinagar-Baramulla national highway, a police spokesman said.
Karami was arrested while making some “indecent gesture” to a girl, the spokesman said.
After registering a case under Section 294 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), Karami was produced in the court where he confessed his guilt, the spokesman said.
