A worker of electricity department was electrocuted while repairing a transformer at Begum Bazar. According to details a worker of electricity department was asked to fix the transformer at Hindi Nagar, Begum Bazar after repeated complaints of power snap. Contract worker Shyam was busy fixing the out-of-order transformer, when he suffered an electric shock after electricity supply was restored all of sudden, as a result he scorched to death.
The incident created panic in the area. The worker’s body was seen hanging on the transformer for hours. Alleging negligence on part of assistant engineer Venkat Rao, his colleagues staged dhara before Begum Bazar police station and demanded ex-gratia.
