Hyderabad: Stating that the Congress party was the reason for the reservations to Dalith, Backward Class, Women and Minorities, the TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has said that several measures were taken in the Constitution during Congress regime for the welfare of Daliths and Backward Class people. But the present rulers were not following any rules and they were dis-honoring the Constitution, he alleged.
After unfurling the national flag at Gandhi Bhavan here on Tuesday on the occasion of 67th Republic Day celebrations, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the rulers of State and Centre were showing negligent attitude towards Hyderabad Central University (HCU) though a scholar named Rohit committed suicide.
Giving a call to the Congress activists to wage a movement to protect the Constitution, Uttam said that there was a need to fight against the anti-constitutional activities of the present rulers. He also gave a call to the Congress activists to strive for the defeat of BJP and TRS parties’ candidates in the GHMC elections.
Party leaders including CLP leader K Jana Reddy, Opposition leader in the Legislative Council Mohd Ali Shabbir, MP V Hanumantha Rao, former PCC Chief Ponnala Laxmaiah, former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav, former Ministers Danam Nagender, Mukhesh Goud, TPCC vice-president Narsimha Reddy, general secretaries Venugopal Rao, Kumar Rao, Laxman Kumar, Kusuma Kumar, Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav, Women Congress president Nerella Sharadha, Seva Dal Chairman Janardhan Reddy and party leaders activists participated in the program.
