Woods ruled out for remainder of season post back surgery

London, Sept. 19 : Former world number one golfer Tiger Woods has been ruled out for the remainder of 2015 season after successfully undergoing back surgery for the second time in two years.

The 14-time major champion said in a statement on his website that this was certainly disappointing but added that he was a fighter as he has no doubts about making a full recovery, the Guardian reported.

Woods endured a struggling outing this year as he has failed to make the cut in four of his last five majors, causing a slump in his ranking to 266.

Woods is expected to make his return to the PGA tour in early 2016. (ANI)
