Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today ordered suspension of two staff of his wing for dereliction of duties on finding an illegal four-floor building at Pragathi Nagar in Medchal Malkajgiri district here. Besides suspending Maulana a VRO and Manohar previous VRO and issued charge memos to Executive Officers Jyothi and Malla Reddy.
The minister made a surprise visit to the village and expressed serious displeasure at the staff concerned for violating norms and encouraging illegal layouts and structures without permission. He warned that the government will not spare such corrupt practices. Krishna Rao directed DPO Suresh to take immediate action on the erring staff and sought the officials to submit a report of such illegal structures and buildings without permission. The minister attributed the violation of norms due to lack of regular monitoring and officials colluding with the builders. He said that changes will be made in imposing fine on such illegal structures. New taxation policy in villages will be introduced and review the taxing methods in Village Panchayats he said.
A final call will be taken after talking to chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao he said. The minister expressed satisfaction at the maintenance of a park, swimming pool, sports stadium and community hall in the village and asked other villages to follow suit. He also appreciated the staff for recycling methods to clean the storm waters and reuse them for plantation. Similar process will help in other villages he said. Later the minister interacted with daily wage workers living in huts near the village and inspected job cards and held a development review. (NSS)
