Jhajjhar Haryana: Days after an incident of mass cheating surfaced during the board examinations in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura city, the local women in Jhajjar, Haryana, undertook guarding duties to prevent cheating.
The women kept an eye on the students in the state senior secondary school during the examinations so that no one indulges in cheating.
Following this move, only one case of cheating came to the fore as compared to 10 such incidents last year.
“If a child indulges in cheating then he/she will not be able to compete in future and, therefore, we are trying to check cheating here. We would suggest that no one should cheat and pass the examination on their own,” said a woman guarding the examination hall.
Hailing the move, the school principal Satya Narayan Kaushik said the initiative of these women is laudable.
“These women came to us and told us about their initiative to prevent cheating. They tried their best to stop cheating, which is praiseworthy,” he said.
Earlier this week, Uttar Pradesh Board’s Class 10th English examination was postponed at two centers after an incident of mass cheating surfaced. (ANI)
