Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy faced bitter experience when he visited the Ujjaini Mahankali temple in Secunderabad where Bonalu festival commenced on Sunday.
Devotees started thronging the temple right from early morning. During the early hours, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Secunderabad MLA Jaya Sudha, BJP State president G Kishan Reddy and others visited the temple and offered prayers. The Chief Minister, who brought silken attire for the Goddess on behalf of the State government, had a bitter experience. Women got irritated because of VIP visitors and when they saw the Chief Minister they raised slogans ‘Down Down Chief Minister’.
They expressed anger that the queue of ordinary devotees was stopped every time a VIP has arrived. Women also raised slogans against the Chief Minister as he was leaving the temple. The embarrassed Chief Minister hopped into his car and sped away without talking to the media.
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Peddapalli MP Vivek, his family members, former Mayor Banda Kartika Reddy, BJP senior leader Indrasena Reddy, Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav and others also visited the temple and paid obeisance to the Goddess Mahakali.
