Women give birth twin of 10 pounds each

Cincinnati, July 10: A family in Cincinnati is welcoming two bundles of joy, and they’re no featherweights. A mother recently delivered a set of twins, weighing nearly 20 pounds combined.

“They seem to look more and more alike each time we look at them,” said Tamara Kankowski.

It’s too early to tell if they are identical. Tests will be complete in a couple of weeks. But it is tough telling them apart.

“This is baby A. This is Lucas Benjamin. He was 10 pounds, two ounces. This is Dillon Matthew and he was nine pounds, nine ounces,” said Tamara.

Lucas is a minute older than his little brother Dillon, and beat him on the scale as well.

“Lucas is very laid back and he doesn’t fuss too much. Dillon is pretty active, he’s generally awake and wants attention,” said Tamara.

That’s 20 pounds of baby, the biggest set of twins delivered at Bethesda North, and quite a shock for mom and dad.

“It was quite a shock. We weren’t planning on having twins so this was God blessing us with twins. I had big babies anyway, but with twins I thought we would have actual little babies. And by 36 weeks when we found out they were going to be bigger than that, then we realized we’re going to have toddlers again,” Tamara said.

If you’re wondering if this double bundle is number one and two in the household, think again. It is actually six and seven.
