Ms. Rashmitra Patro (23), an International Women Footballer from Odisha is facing financial difficulties these days. She represented India in 2008 at Kuala Lumpur in under 16 AFC Women’s Qualifying Contests as defender. Later she represented India in 2011 at Dhaka for Senior AFC contests. In the same year she participated in Bahrain in senior women’s team. India won this series by 2-1. After this, Ms. Rashmitra Patro was removed from the team. From that time onwards her decline started. Now she is forced to run a small pan shop in Kendra Pada in Odisha.
She told that she got name and fame but her luck did not allow her to spend a luxuries life. After her removal from the team she started struggling for a job but she was not successful. He husband is a traditional fisherman but his income is not sufficient to run the house. She therefore decided to start a pan shop to earn her bread.
