Women empowerment top priority: Gilani

Islamabad, July 13: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the government was committed to granting economic empowerment to women who now constitute 51 percent of the country’s population.
Pakistan has a population of over 170 million.
While talking to a delegation from the Women Chamber of Commerce which called on Gilani at the Governor House in Quetta, the prime minister said that the government considers welfare of women and their well-being a top priority.
Gilani said that he would constitute a committee to prepare a plan for resolving problems being faced by women entrepreneurs of Balochistan, reported Associated Press of Pakistan.
He said that the business women of under developed areas play a vital role in the social and economic progress of the country.
