Madinah: An illegal restaurant in Madinah, selling food to pilgrims, was busted Tuesday.
A committee of representatives from the Madinah municipality and other government departments arrested the three women who were running the eatery.
Ahmad Al-Baadani, director of the municipality’s food supervising department, said the committee heard the women had turned a house in Al-Hasnan district into an illegal restaurant.
He said all three women were arrested and would be tried for running an unlicensed restaurant, while ignoring the conditions of cleanliness, packaging and transport. Al-Baadani said the kitchen utensils were confiscated and the restaurant was closed down.
