woman was put to death by relatives

A 40-year-old woman was murdered allegedly by her two relatives over a property dispute in front of her ailing father in Cottonpet police limits on Friday evening.

The victim was identified as Geetha, was a resident of K Veerabhadrappa Lane, Akkipet.

According to police, her two relatives – Narendra Kumar and Jithendra surrendered before the police hours after the murder and said that they hacked her to death due to a property dispute.

Geetha was married to Deepak for 20 years and the couple have no children. Geetha be the owner of a five-storey building and was staying with her father Shankarappa, who have a medical condition of a paralytic stroke recently, in the ground floor. 
Deepak was not at his house when the murder occurred, the police said.

Munawar, a neighbour, who runs a roadside stall, said. “I heard someone cry from inside and rushed to Geetha’s house,”

Munawar added, “I saw two middle-aged youths coming out of the house holding lethal weapons. They vanished once they spotted me. I entered the house and saw Geetha lying in a pool of blood,”.

Narendra and Jithendra gained entry inside the house and difference of opinion with Geetha followed.

The duo later hacked her with a machete. Geetha sustained serious injuries on her head, chest and back.

She collapsed and died on the spot, Shankarappa said the police.
