Natrampalli, May 04: The Natrampalli police have registered a case against a 26-year-old woman for throwing her three sons into a well at Vellakalnatham in Natrampalli police station limit on Tuesday. Two of the children drowned.
Kanmani is married to Murugan (30) and residing at Chinnagoundanur in Vellakalnatham. The couple have three sons – Krishnan (5), Sree (3) and five-month-old Prakash. Murugan is a daily wage labourer.
The couple frequently quarrelled as Kanmani suspected Murugan’s fidelity. On Tuesday, the couple quarrelled and Kanmani left the house with her sons. She went to the well owned by Subramani at Vellakalnatham to commit suicide.
However, she threw her three children into the well but did not jump into it, police said. Villagers rushed to the spot and caught hold of her.
A few of them jumped into the well to rescue the children but Krishnan and Prakash drowned. The villagers rescued Sree, who sustained injuries. He has been admitted to Government Hospital at Vaniyambadi.
