New Delhi: A 55-year-old woman received severe burn injuries after an unidentified man entered her house and allegedly poured some chemical substance on her today.
The incident was reported around 3.30 pm at B K Colony in south Delhi’s RK Puram Sector 12 area, said police.
The woman, identified as Rama Devi, raised an alarm after which her neighbours called up the police and she was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, where she was undergoing treatment, said police.
The woman lives with her husband and son, who were not at home when the incident took place.
She was inside her house for a siesta when the accused came inside and allegedly poured the acidic substance on her, said police.
A case has been registered and investigation in underway, police added.
