New Delhi, March 03: A 33-year-old woman was strangled to death allegedly by her husband in Narela area in the capital, police said on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Shikha and her husband Ranjeet is absconding, they said.
“Ranjeet is believed to have strangulated his wife last night,” a senior police official said.
The incident came to light this morning after neighbours heard cries of the victim’s children and went to their house. The body has been sent for post mortem to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital in Jahangirpuri, the official said, adding, marks on the victim’s neck point towards strangulation.
Shikha’s brother Krishan allegedly that Ranjeet, who hails from Munger in Bihar and worked in a private company here, was an alcoholic and often fought with his sister.
A case of murder has been registered.
