Udhampur, March 07: A woman and her son were today killed in the forest belt of Reasi district in Jammu and Kashmir.
27-year-old Sheela Devi, the wife of Kuldeep Singh, and her 7-year-old son Rinku were going to her parental home in Satrian area in Mahore tehsil of Reasi district this afternoon, police officials said.
The duo were intercepted in the forest belt by unidentified persons who slit their throats, they said, adding that villagers, who saw them dead in a pool of blood this evening, were taken home amid protests.
The villagers prevented the police from taking custody of the bodies for post-mortem resulting in a minor clash, they said.
The post-mortem was done after the police managed to pacify the protesters.
Police have registered a case of murder.
