New Delhi, May 27: Two masked men armed with meat cleavers broke into an engineer’s residence, assaulted his 28-year-old wife and infant son before fleeing with cash and valuables worth Rs 4 lakh on Wednesday.
Police said the incident was reported from Sudhir Kumar Aggarwal’s (31) home in Sarai Rohilla’s L-block around 11 am – barely a kilometre from the area’s Assistant Commissioner of Police’s (ACP) office.
“Two masked men with meat cleavers barged into the room, banged my head on the wall, twisted my arms and demanded me to tell them where I’d kept my jewellery and cash,” said a tearful Monica Agarwal.
“We have registered a case of robbery at the Sarai Rohilla Police Station and the matter is under investigation,” said Karnal Singh, Joint CP (northern range).
