Panaji: Frustrated at her life a middle-aged woman smothered her two-year-old daughter in Goa, a police spokesperson said today.
According to reports, the accused mother Azia Rodrigues was arrested from her residence located in south Goa – Betalbatim.
Initially, the accused her mother-in-law of killing her two-year-old toddler but later on confessed to her crime.
“We confronted Azia and her mother-in-law Sebastina. After some time Azia broke down and confessed to murdering her daughter out of sheer frustration,” the spokesperson said.
Reports said while the accused’s husband is usually away for work on a cruise ship, the two women often quarreled over domestic issues.
The police have sent the dead body of the toddler victim for postmortem.
