Woman set ablaze for not voting Shiva Sena

A 65-year old made a complain to Babulgaon Khurd village in Yeola which is 90 km away from Nasik complaining that 3 men set her ablaze for not voting Shiva Sena and for voting NCP candidate. She is struggling for her survival with 80% burns. On Zelubai Jagannath Wable’s complaint the cops arrested Ashok Bornare (38), Pandurang Bornare (45) and Nandkishore Bhurak (40) yesterday for making an attempt to murder and criminal intimidation. These three persons were produced before Yeola court and remanded in police custody till 20th October. The women reported that the three accused met her when she was going to the polling booth for exercising her vote. She told that they instructed her to press the third button on voting machine which was assigned to Sambhaji Pawar, a candidate from Shiva Sena. After the voting, the three accused met her again and blamed that she pressed the second button of Chhagan Bhujbal, a candidate from NCP. The woman also told that they came to her house at 8 p.m. and abused her. After heated discussions, Bhurak held her tight while Ashok Bornare emptied a jerry can of Kerosene on her body and Pandu Bornare set her ablaze.

Mr. Naresh Meghrajani, DSP told that “Prime facie, the woman’s statement does not seem to be convening. After interrogating the three accused, the facts will be known”. SP of the district Sanjay Mohita told that the victim gave a statement that the accused entered the polling booth and saw her cast her vote. If this is true, the agents of other parties would have objected. All these matters have to be investigated.

The real battle in the constituency is Bhujbal and Pawar. Pawar is the nephew of Mr. Maruti Pawar who was former Congress MLA during 1985 – 1990.
