Mathura:A woman was allegedly raped by a man on the pretext of marriage in Vrindavan Kotwali area.
The woman, a resident of Asansol in West Bengal, in police a complaint alleged that she was raped by Shubham on the pretext of marriage on October 17. Shubam’s friends assisted him in the crime, SP (City) Ashok Kumar said.
The accused beat her up and also warned her of dire consequences if she told about the incident to anyone, he said.
The victim alleged that she had approached police earlier also but they did not register a complaint. She then sought the intervention of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, on whose direction an FIR was registered in the matter under relevant sections of IPC.
