Kolkata: An incident of humiliation of a woman professor came to light at Jadavpur University.
According to a report, Dr. Duyuta Majumdar, Assistant Professor of English, Jadavpur University was passing through the road where a meeting of the supporters of CAA was being held. The meeting was organized by Right wing organization, Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Samarak Samithi. It was attended by 50-60 members near Jadavpur University bus stand.
They were making speeches in favour of CAA and NRC. In the meeting, BJP Lok Sabha M.P. Mr. Shantanu Thakur and Rajya Sabha member, Mr. Swapnadas Gupta were also present.
Ms. Majumdar said that she stopped for a while to listen to the speeches. After a few minutes, the speakers were also spreading venom against the professor of Jadavpur University. They raised the slogan “Allah-u-Akbar” (God is Great).
Meanwhile, a large gathering assembled there mainly of women. The professor alleged that the BJP activists started pushing and abusing her.
