New Delhi, June 12: A married woman and her paramour allegedly killed her alcoholic husband after he caught them together in their north Delhi shanty four days ago, police said Friday, adding the duo have been arrested.
Kashmira and her paramour Amit allegedly stabbed an inebriated Mohinder Singh to death in their hut in Kishan Ganj area June 8. They hid the body in the house for over 30 hours and then threw it near a drain.
Kashmira then cooked up a story that her husband, who worked as an electrician with Delhi Floor Mill in Subzi Mandi area, had left the house to collect Rs.20,000 that he had lent his friend Rajender, but did not return. The police found the body Wednesday and began investigations.
“During our investigations we found that Kashmira was having illicit relations with Amit, who had visited her on that day. While searching the jhuggi (shanty), blood stains were found on the floor,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Delhi) Sagarpreet Hooda.
“One plastic bag containing blood stained clothes was found in the loft of the jhuggi and Amit was also found hiding behind the plastic bag and other things kept there. Amit and Kashmira said they were in love and into a relationship. Amit was also helping her financially,” the official said.
According to police, on Tuesday night Singh came home in an inebriated state and went to sleep. He woke up after some time and found Amit and his wife together.
“Singh hit Amit with a rod. Amit then stabbed Singh till he died. They hid the body beneath the bed for 30 hours. They wanted to dispose of the body but could not arrange for any vehicle,” Hooda said.
