New Delhi: A woman, 47-year-old opened fire at her mother (Geeta) and brother (Harsaran) in their residence at defence colony. The incident happened around Thursday midnight.
The cops received information about firing around 12.43 am on Friday. According to the statement of the cops, the trio had a heated argument after which the accused opened fire, said cops.
The Police said that the woman was in an inebriated state and had used a licensed pistol to open fire. According to the Police, the victims are now out of danger.
A police officer said that, “We are yet to find out the motive. Property dispute could have led to the incident. The victims’ statements would be recorded once we get permission from the doctors. We are waiting.”
Romil Baaniya, deputy commissioner (south) of Delhi Police said that The accused Sangeeta was detained for questioning. She has been sent for medical examination and the weapon has been seized.”
A case has been registered under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (attempt to murder) against the accused. A senior officer of the local police station said they would request the authorities to cancel the licence of the weapon.
