A 48 year-old-woman was murdered by allegedly by her husband at Meerpet three days ago.
According to Meerpet police, deceased Leela (48) an Housewife W/o Venkat Rao R/o Tirumala Hills of Meerpet N/o Khammam district was murdered by allegedly by her husband about three days ago.
The killing came to light only on Thursday after the man, Venkat Rao, called his daughter Anita over phone and told her about it. The police who rushed to the spot immediately and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem.
Venkat Rao picked up a quarrel with his wife Leela on Tuesday after she failed to give him money for liquor. Later, Venkat hit her with a stick on her head and after she died, dumped her body in water sump and went away.
The couple have two children while daughter Anita is married and stays at Saroornagar, their son Amarnath Reddy completed B. Tech searching for a job.
Meerpet police registered a case of murder under section 302 IPC and began investigation. (INN)
