Vizianagaram, April 10: Maoists’ Srikakulam and Koraput Joint Division area committee member Pattika Kalavati alias Chinna Santi alias Nirmala surrendered before superintendent of police Navin Gulati on Monday.
Nirmala was involved in 14 criminal cases in Vizianagaram and Koraput district of Odisha including blasting of a cold storage belonging to Doki Satyanarayana of Jimidipeta village in Rayagada district of Odisha during the People’s Liberal Guerilla Army (PLGA) week celebration in 2004.
She was involved in looting arms and ammunitions from R Udayagiri police station in Odisha in 2006.
Several murder cases including that of Nimmala Musiri of Atchaba village and Bijay of Sunapalamanda village in Bandhugam have been registered against Nirmala.
She killed N Markandeya Choudary of Nagulabedda village in Korput district and Sunna Naidu of Yeguvasambi village in Saluru mandal suspecting him to be a police informer.
Nirmala also participated in the attack on NALCO CISF camp at Damanjodi, Srikakulam Division.
She was also involved in the attack on second CRC company killing 10 CISF personnel in 2009.
Nirmala participated in raids on Narayanapatnam block office in June 2009 and Paluru ambush in which 11 police personnel were killed in June 2009.
Speaking to reporters here, Nirmala accused senior Maoist leader Daya of ill-treatment of tribal cadres.
Differences with the leadership led her to surrender, she added.
