On Thursday evening, an unidentified person snatched Rs 5 lakh from a woman at knifepoint at Munagapaka Mandal in the district.
The targeted woman had withdrawn around Rs 8 lakh from a bank at Kakarapalli in Munagapaka Mandal, after which she hired an autorickshaw to return home. But, an unidentified person blocked the autorickshaw at a remote place and seized one of the bags at knifepoint.
However, two youths reportedly chased the offender and handed him over to the Munagapaka police.
