The Patna police today busted an inter-state gang of cheaters led by a woman who used to dupe innocent citizens of huge cash in the name of selling gold chain at a throwaway price.
Acting on a tip-off received by Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj, a police team caught
three persons, including the woman, from outside Rajendra Nagar railway station looking for the prey.
One kg of fake gold in the form of chain was recovered from them, a statement from SSP office said here.
Those nabbed have been identified as Meena Devi of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, Gautam Yadav also from Kanpur in UP
and Chunni Lal of Alambagh in UP, the statement said.
The gang used to trap innocent people by offering gold chains at a throwaway price.
Preliminary investigation revealed that they had recently cheated a doctor couple and were active in Patna,
Ranchi, Delhi and prominent towns of UP.
