Bhind: A woman killed her husband in Chaturvedi Nagar here before allegedly eloping with her lover taking along three of her children, police said on Friday.
The incident came to light yesterday when police broke open the door of the victim’s house on suspicion and found the body of Ashok Singh (34) wrapped in a cotton mattress, City Kotwali Police Station In-charge, Sunil Khemaria said.
Acting on the complaint of the woman’s mother-in-law, Usha that her son’s house is locked since last one week and she has no information about her son and other members’ whereabouts, police last night broke open the door and found the body of Singh.
His throat was slit by a sharp-edged object. It appears that the murder probably took place on January 14, police said.
Besides Ashok, his wife Anjana and three children used to live in the house.
Usha suspects that Anjana might have killed her son and eloped with her alleged lover Ashish Choudhary, police said.
A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
