Jaipur, October 13: One woman was today killed and at least 10 others were injured in a clash between two groups of people over a dispute on water, the police said.
The incident took place at Mimyadpur village in Bharatpur district and the deceased was identified as Shakuntla, they said.
The injured were rushed to a government hospital in Halena in Bharatpur district where the condition of two persons said to be serious, the police said.
Tension erupted, when two women belonging to OBC quarrelled over water at the handpump where one of them was washing dirty clothes which was prohibited.
No one was arrested so far, while the deceased’s husband has lodged an FIR with Halena police station, they said adding that additional forces were deployed in the village to monitor law and order situation.
