Woman jailed for killing boyfriend

A young businesswoman who killed her boyfriend in a villa in Jumeirah in 2010 has been jailed for seven years after she was diagnosed with psychological disorder, the Dubai Criminal Court of First Instance ruled on Tuesday.

The forensic report submitted before the court said that she suffered disorder after being raped in early age and that her mother mistreated her.

The court on Tuesday awarded a Kazakhstani businesswoman seven years jail followed by deportation for killing her boyfriend.

According to the alignment sheet, AF, 26, stabbed YS in a villa in Jumeira on November 4, 2010. She initially told prosecutors that YS had committed suicide after a dispute between them; but later she admitted killing him and claimed that it was in self-defence.

The court records showed that prosecution subjected the accused to a psychiatrist who diagnosed her with a psychological disorder.

However, forensic department reported that the cause of death was killing, refuting that he committed suicide as the accused claimed. Furthermore, there were also wounds on the left forearm of the victim, proving that he resisted the attacker, forensic report said.

Further tests revealed that she used to consume alcohol. Despite being under the influence, she didn’t lose control over her actions.
