Raipur, December 07: A woman was arrested for allegedly trying to set afire her husband, a Judicial Magistrate in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, police said today.
Magistrate K P Bhadoria, in a police complaint, alleged that his wife Mannu tried to kill him, setting him on fire. Based on the complaint, she has been arrested, Korba Superintendent of Police Ratanlal Dangi told PTI.
Mannu poured petrol on her husband and tried to set him ablaze, but he managed to save himself, police said, quoting the complaint.
A probe into the matter has been launched, Dangi said.
The woman told police that she was fed up with her husband. Mannu had lodged a dowry harassment case against her husband around eight years ago, but they later patched up, police said.
