Hyderabad, November 3: Bahadurpura police arrested a woman who committed burglary in the pretext of exorcism. The woman used to inspect the houses in the name of incantations and in the pretext of making evil proof seal (bandish) for houses allegedly burgled the houses.
According to sub inspector Bahadurpura Faizullah Khan, police arrested 42 year old woman Razia Sultana resident of Nawab Saheb Kunta and seized stolen gold jewelry and other items from her possession. Sub inspector told that this action has been taken on the complaint made by Qutubuddin resident of Kishan Bagh. According toe police Qutubuddin and his wife had gone to village day before yesterday and when they returned they found that the door was open. However they didn’t notice about the household items. But the next day when they were going for a party they searched the almirah only to find that the gold jewellery has been stolen.
Police sent plain clothed staff to keep an eye on a rahen centre where they arrested the woman on the basis of suspicion and seized jewellery from her possession.
Police say that Razia Sultana used to do exorcism and claims to ward of evil effects from houses by making evil proof seal (bandish) for houses and thus Qutubuddin also fell victim to her trap.
