Dampen the spirits after finding out that her husband was having an illicit relationship with a woman, a housewife hanged herself in Prakash Nagar on Thursday evening.
According to Begumpet police, Ratnaveni, 26, year, old got married to Uday Kumar, a customer executive with a mobile service provider. Their relationship drained liquid after Ratnaveni came to know of Uday Kumar’s alleged relationship with another woman.
A week past, Uday, a resident of Neredmet, left his wife at her parent’s house at Prakash Nagar. In the last two weeks, numerous phone conversations took place between the couple, the last being at 3 pm on Thursday.
“Uday allegedly abused Ratnaveni frequently. On Thursday evening, Ratnaveni asked her mother to get her some fruits and in her absence, committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling,” Sub-Inspector M Krishna said.
Police said Uday is yet to be arrested, however a case has been registered against him under sections 306 (Abetment to suicide) and 498 (dowry harassment) of the IPC.
