Mumbai, November 02: A sessions court has sentenced a 21-year-old woman to life imprisonment for killing her husband out of her extra-marital affair.
Jyoti Malusare was accused of killing Vijay, her husband, by giving him sleeping pills.
As per the prosecution, Jyoti and Vijay got married on May 9, 2007 and were living in suburban Ghatkopar with Vijay’s parents.
A month after their wedding, on June 14, 2007, Jyoti gave Vijay a glass of milk at night. Next morning she raised alarm, saying that Vijay was not waking up. He was taken to hospital, but was declared dead.
