Ambala, May 23: Eight persons were today booked by the police on the charges of gangraping a middle-aged divorced woman in Ambala City, police said.
The City police registered a case under various sections of the IPC including 376 (rape), 342 (wrongfully confinement), 366 (kidnapping) against eight persons, they added.
A resident of Mani Majara, the victim was married in 1995 and was divorced four years back.
In her complaint, she said she was taking a walk in a park at Mani Majara on Friday last when four persons came there and forcibly pushed her inside a car.
She told the police that kidnappers had confined her in a house in Kaithmajri, in Ambala City. Later four more youths reached there and repeatedly raped her.
The victim managed to free herself and escaped this morning and narrated the incident to police.
