Woman files plea in Kerala High Court, claims forceful conversion

New Delhi: A writ petition has been filed in Kerala High Court by a 25-year-old alleging forceful conversion to Islam and attempt of making her join the ISIS group in Syria.

The woman petitioner from Gujarat’s state Jam Nagar in her plea stated that she is a “victim of forceful conversion, fraudulent marriage, and attempt to sexual slavery.”

The petitioner said she was forcefully married to Muhammed Riyaz using fake Aadhar card. He then took her to Saudi Arabia and forced her to watch Dr Zakir Naik’s videos.

Her plea said, “He has other plans to go to Syria and informed to the petitioner that within a few days they will shift to Syria and his plan was to sell the petitioner to the ISIS terrorists. He also forced her to attend Islamic classes and watch videos of Zakir Naik.”

The woman says she managed to return to Ahmedabad on 4 October after her parents helped her.

She said she is afraid to return to Kerala and claimed that that the government and the intelligence agencies are “silent spectators to the anti-national activities of the terrorist groups and organizations.”
