Woman falsely accuses three men of gangrape in UP

A 30-year-old married woman falsely accused three men, who are party to a murder case against her brother, of gangrape at Nyamatpur village, police said.

The woman later confessed and apologized for her actions, they said.

The woman’s brother is in jail in connection with an eight-month-old murder case of a 10-year-old child, ASP (Rural) Jagdish Sharma said.

She had gone to see him in the prisons two days back, Sharma said.

After the meeting she filed the gangrape case against the three from the other party of the murder case, he said adding that station in-charge Vijay Prakash went for further investigations.

Prakash found that one of the accused was wearing plasters in his hands, the other was unable to walk due to a wound and the third accused was 55-year-old, the ASP said.

In order to make the allegation appear ‘real’ she had thrown some bindis in the fields and put some injury marks on her own body, Sharma said.

Suspecting the allegation to be untrue Prakash summoned the woman and his father before the villagers where she “confessed” to her “deeds” and said sorry, the ASP said.

Later on the woman and her father were made to tender an apology in writing, he said.
