Nellore, April 09: A woman M Maheswari (35), wife of Venkateswara Reddy, and resident of Kisan Nagar area of Nellore city, died of food poisoning on Sunday in Secunderabad.
She was returning home after a pilgrimage to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, along with 70 others from Nellore and Kadapa districts.
According to family sources, Maheswari went to Varanasi on April 27 along with the group.
The group was returning by train to Secunderabad to go on to Nellore from there.
But Maheswari and some others fell ill on the way. She suffered from vomiting and motions on May 6 and the first aid provided in the train could not help her.
She was rushed to Yasodha Hospital in Secunderabad where the doctors declared her brought dead.
It was suspected she died due to food poisoning.
The group had prepared their food themselves but some of the people had eaten it.
